Job description

JOB SUMMARY: To ensure that ELL identified children in the district receive appropriate instruction in the acquisition of English as part of their existing educational program.
Candidates must be fluent in Spanish and hold a valid CT State Department of Education Certification; In lieu of certification, applicants who are fluent in Spanish, but have evidence and credentials of academic content knowlege may be considered as non-certified tutors. Per Torrington BOE Policy # 5063, a non-certified tutor works under the supervision of a certified teacher and must be in at least their third year of college or university, or hold a degree from an accredited higher-education institution.
