Elevated Facility Services is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Elevator Mechanic to perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and servicing of elevators and related vertical transportation equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring elevators operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company standards. The ideal candidate is a licensed elevator professional with strong electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues affecting elevators, dumbwaiters, wheelchair lifts, and other vertical transportation equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance on elevators and related systems according to established service schedules.

Troubleshoot complex operational problems and implement corrective actions to restore equipment performance.

Respond to service calls, outages, and emergency repair situations as required.

Inspect equipment components and recommend repair, replacement, or modernization opportunities.

Testing & Compliance

Conduct annual and periodic safety tests to verify the proper operation of elevator safety devices.

Ensure all equipment complies with applicable elevator codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.

Complete inspections and maintain accurate maintenance, testing, and service records.

Follow all lockout/tagout and job-site safety procedures.

Assist in evaluating existing elevator equipment and proposed modifications.

Support installation, modernization, and repair projects as needed.

Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergencies outside normal business hours.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Licensing

High School Diploma or GED required.

Valid Elevator Mechanic License required where applicable.

Certified Elevator Technician (CET®) certification.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Experience

5+ years of elevator maintenance, repair, modernization, or service experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of traction, hydraulic, and machine-room-less (MRL) elevator systems.

Experience servicing various elevator controllers and equipment manufacturers preferred.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

Knowledge of elevator safety codes and OSHA requirements.

Proficiency using electrical testing equipment, diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.

Knowledge of hoisting, rigging, chain falls, and lifting equipment.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and elevator shafts.

Ability to crawl, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces.

Must be able to lift and carry tools and materials weighing 75 pounds or more.

Ability to assist with moving equipment and materials weighing up to 200 pounds.

Comfortable working at heights and near moving machinery.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
