Job description

Position Summary

The Regional Operations Manager is the senior operational leader responsible for the overall performance of AMST's Elevator Cab Interiors business throughout the region. This position carries full P&L responsibility and oversees all aspects of operations, including estimating support, project execution, fabrication, installation, field operations, scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.

This leader is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences while driving operational excellence, improving profitability, developing people, and supporting the continued growth of the business. The Regional Operations Manager partners closely with Sales to ensure a seamless transition from project award through final installation and customer acceptance.

This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced construction and service environment and has the ability to manage multiple projects, crews, fabrication schedules, and customer relationships simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

P&L Leadership

•Own the region's financial performance, including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, labor efficiency, and working capital.

•Develop and execute operational strategies to achieve annual budget and profitability objectives.

•Monitor project financial performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.

•Review labor productivity, project costs, material utilization, equipment expenses, and overhead performance.

Operations Leadership

•Lead all fabrication, warehouse, installation, and field operations.

•Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.

•Oversee scheduling of fabrication and installation crews to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

•Improve operational processes to increase efficiency and scalability.

•Drive accountability through KPIs, dashboards, and operational reviews.

Project Execution

•Oversee the execution of custom elevator interior projects from handoff through completion.

•Coordinate closely with Sales, Project Management, Estimating, Fabrication, Procurement, and Field Installation teams.

•Manage project timelines, customer expectations, subcontractors, change orders, punch lists, and closeout documentation.

•Resolve customer issues quickly while protecting project profitability.

Fabrication & Installation

•Oversee production within the fabrication facility to ensure quality workmanship and efficient throughput.

•Ensure installation crews maintain the highest craftsmanship while minimizing elevator downtime for customers.

•Improve workflow between fabrication and field installation teams.

•Monitor inventory levels and material procurement.

Safety & Quality

•Foster a culture where safety is the highest priority.

•Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and customer site requirements.

•Conduct regular field audits and quality inspections.

•Drive continuous improvement in quality, workmanship, and customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership

•Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing managers, supervisors, installers, craftsmen, and support staff.

•Conduct regular performance reviews and career development planning.

•Build a culture centered on accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and customer service.

Customer Relationships

•Develop strong relationships with building owners, property managers, elevator contractors, architects, and general contractors.

•Participate in customer meetings and jobsite visits as needed.

•Ensure exceptional customer communication throughout every phase of each project.

•Support the sales organization in securing repeat business and expanding customer relationships.

Operational Excellence

Establish and monitor key performance indicators including:

Qualifications

•Construction Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred.

•7–10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.

•Experience leading construction, fabrication, specialty contracting, manufacturing, commercial interiors, elevator, architectural metals, millwork, or related businesses preferred.

•Demonstrated experience managing a full P&L.

•Strong understanding of project management and commercial construction operations.

•Proven ability to lead large field and production teams.

•Excellent financial and business acumen.

•Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.

•Proficiency with ERP systems, scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and operational reporting tools.
