Field Supt New Installations
Your main responsibilities

Your main responsibilities
As a Field Superintendent for New Installations (NI), you will oversee all phases of elevator installation projects, ensuring quality, safety, cost control, and customer satisfaction. You will lead and develop field technicians, coordinate job site readiness, and act as the key point of contact for contractors, customers, and internal teams to support regional objectives.

Operations Management
   Lead and build a high-performing, safe team of 12-20 field technicians by enforcing company quality and safety standards.
   Coordinate daily project schedules, job site readiness walkthroughs, parts/material ordering, and payroll accuracy.
   Monitor installation progress and drive efficiency through consistent site visits and communication.
   Manage manpower levels in partnership with union representatives, resolving employee relations and staffing issues.
   Support sales and project management teams with bid estimates, job progress meetings, and complaint resolution.
   Ensure all installation projects meet contractual, company, and safety requirements.
Quality and Safety
   Conduct regular site inspections, including physical access to motor rooms, pits, and shaftways, to ensure quality workmanship and safety compliance.
   Implement company and customer requirements for product performance, reliability, and passenger safety.
   Enforce safety best practices and participate in continuous training programs.
Employee Development, Planning & Logistics
   Train and mentor technicians on company processes, tools, safety protocols, and industry standards.
   Foster open communication and teamwork among field staff and union partners.
   Manage daily logistics and resource allocation to optimize project delivery.
Collaboration
   Serve as a liaison between field teams, contractors, sales, project managers, and support functions.
   Work closely with union representatives to maintain positive labor relations.
   Coordinate with quality, engineering, and service teams during project handovers and customer training.
Problem Solving 
   Proactively identify and resolve on-site challenges, customer concerns, and operational roadblocks.
   Adapt to shifting priorities and urgent requests from technicians and contractors to keep projects on track.
What you will learn  
   Develop technical expertise in elevator installation systems and project management through hands-on experience and mentorship.
   Enhance leadership and communication skills by managing diverse teams and stakeholder relationships.
   Gain proficiency in financial and project metrics including, change order management, and customer satisfaction tracking.
   Expand your knowledge of safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
   Leverage technology and project management tools to optimize workflows and reporting.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent in relevant work experience in the elevator industry or related field 
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage sensitive employee relations with proven leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing tradespeople
  • Flexibility to be on call
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
