Job description

Elevator Service Technician

Delaware Elevator of Florida has an immediate need for Service Technicians to maintain, service, and repair Elevators in surrounding areas of Southwestern Florida.


Responsibilities:

  • Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment - Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate based on mechanical & electrical principles - in private and public infrastructure environments.
  • Must pay close attention to detail when following procedures and operating elevator equipment. Must be alert & able to notice any changes in the elevator's performance and determine cause to rectify in timely manner.
  • On call rotation (Service Techs) scheduled after hours on regular basis, as needed.
  • Able to work independently, to satisfy customer needs for emergencies, entrapments, or repairs.
  • Able to satisfy fit for duty requirements to perform independently & efficiently. Apprentice will not be scheduled alone for the on-call rotation (until satisfy educational and demonstrated skill requirements).
  • Travel: Able to travel as needed (some overnight stay on occasion).
  • Repair teams may handle more weight and lifting requirements based on individual projects.

Qualifications:


  • We require a minimum of 5 years' experience working independently as an Elevator Mechanic / Technician and hold valid elevator mechanic credentials - will consider state elevator license with additional years of experience.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and elevator troubleshooting skills with ability to handle physical workload required in fit-for-duty assessment.
