Key Responsibilities Lead a team of engineers and scientists to invent and test novel and improved subsystems for electrochemical processing of Wafers and Panels in semiconductor equipment. Ensure that team combines literature review, engineering design and experimental testing in an iterative loop Identify future requirements and develop technology to intercept the market need Ensure best practices in experimental methods.

Drive the use of appropriate computer modeling with COMSOL, Matlab, CFD and FEA codes guide design work. Drive integrated analysis of process performance and cost of ownership. Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and controls engineers, enabling them to work effectively with process and software engineers on new product development.

Lead development of hardware, automation, fluid and process sub-systems in automated semiconductor wet process tools, specifying system testing procedures from prototype through reliability analysis. Drive early-stage development of new process sub-systems through C&F testing Be a role model for other engineers-both in teamwork and quality of innovation delivered. Coordinate the development of process requirements as expressed in PIDs and software specifications; review with software team and revise in timely manner in response to C&F and early phase testing.

Work with patent counsel to draft and implement IP filings. Functional Knowledge Deep knowledge of electrochemical processes, including electroplating, etching, rinsing and drying Familiarity with electroplating Business Expertise Understand customer electroplating requirements now and project customer needs for next generation applications Leadership Manages multiple project teams, and coordinates with other groups in the business to set organizational priorities and allocates resources Additional Skills and Experience PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Physics 10 or more years of experience in the Semiconductor Equipment industry; familiarity with wet chemical and electroplating processing equipment Demonstrated leadership ability and management experience Simulation using multi-physics analysis such as Comsol and Ansys Position requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times. This includes demonstrating the highest level of ethical conduct reflecting Applied Materials' core values.

Expertise in electrochemical process engineering and wet chemical processing. Electroplating experience preferred. Additional Information Time Type: Full time Employee Type: Assignee / Regular Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time Relocation Eligible: Yes The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.

In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
