Position Summary: Manufacturing ProcessEngineer

Location: Valley Green, PA

Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM's globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally.

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. The position will be located in Valley Green, PA. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer for theMezzanine Products Groupyou will be responsible for the transition of new products and processes from development engineering to manufacturing and supply chain. This position will work closely with product development and product engineering to define manufacturing requirements. The NPI engineer will manage cross functional deliverables, develop schedules, track progress against these plans, and ensure new products are brought to market on time with expected quality and cost performance. This includes managing the project from early prototype builds through the launch to high volume production. The position requires exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will support one or more NPI products and the product development engineering group in all aspects of daily work.

  • Participate in early-stage product development and communicate expectations and ensure the successful capture of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Test, Installation & Service requirements.
  • Apply DFM (manufacturing, quality, sourcing, service and cost) methods into new product designs. Work with development engineering to integrate DFM principles early in the design process and promote a concurrent engineering approach throughout the organization.
  • Conduct manufacturing readiness assessments. Review engineering drawings and technical documentation to ensure all requirements are met before transition to manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Ability to develop schedules for new product releases to customer sites, set milestones, assess & mitigate risks, develop action plans, coordinate activities and drive results within cross-functional teams
  • Deliver new products on-time, within budget, and at expected quality and reliability levels.
  • Perform analyses to establish full production cost expectations (material, labor, burden, tooling).
  • Set initial build plans, drive material readiness with supply chain and evaluate constraints.
  • Act as the manufacturing liaison to Engineering team and Operations for resolving technical problems and provide rapid prototyping support.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to develop efficient methods for assembling product. Design or specify manufacturing equipment, tooling and processes as required.
  • Provide a feedback loop to Engineering and Supply Chain to capture lessons learned from product rollouts and provide recommendations for future designs and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering required.
  • Technical skills in electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, or Product Development
  • Proficient in 3D modeling using SolidWorks
  • General understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experience with FMEA, DOE, and continual process improvement.
  • Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global).
  • Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem solving and project management skills.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of copper alloys, high performance engineering thermoplastics, or electroplating processes would be a plus
  • Basic understanding of electrical connectors
  • Ability to travel 6-8x per year, including internationally
