This is a manufacturing assembly position-not a warehouse role. Please note you need to have direct assembly experience.
What You Will Do
As a Mechanical Assembler, you will build precision sheet metal assemblies, chassis, cabinets, enclosures, and electromechanical products by following assembly instructions, engineering drawings, and production documentation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical components, chassis, housings, cabinets, racks, and sheet metal enclosures.
  • Fit, align, and secure components to meet product specifications and quality standards.
  • Work from blueprints, assembly drawings, work instructions, and bills of material.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to complete assemblies.
  • Install hardware, brackets, panels, and mechanical subassemblies.
  • Perform product inspections to verify proper fit, alignment, and workmanship.
  • Support basic interconnect and cable installation when required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.
What We are Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, enclosure assembly, cabinet assembly, or electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Experience working with precision mechanical components and tight tolerances.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing quality standards and continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience assembling industrial equipment, electronic enclosures, server racks, cabinets, or similar products.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk throughout the workday.
  • Frequently lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Use hands for repetitive assembly and tool operation.
  • Work with small hardware and precision mechanical components requiring attention to detail.
Why Join Elma?
  • Stable, growing manufacturing company
  • Competitive compensation
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Career growth opportunities
