Job description

Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical / Electronics Engineer to support advanced situational awareness and multi-domain operations (MDO) programs. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and integration of RF and signal processing systems that enable next-generation battlefield awareness, electronic warfare, and spectrum management capabilities.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and operators to design and deliver systems that integrate data from diverse sensors, communications, and radar systems to provide actionable intelligence and operational advantage. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in RF, signal processing, and spectrum management, along with experience contributing to mission-critical DoD programs in multi-domain environments.

This is a full time position located at MacDill AFB, FL or Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Lead the design and development of electrical and electronic circuits, systems, and components.

  • Oversee schematic creation, PCB layout reviews, and component selection for new and existing products.

  • Perform advanced analysis, modeling, and simulation to validate design performance and reliability.

  • Develop test plans, execute validation activities, and troubleshoot complex hardware issues.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality processes.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless system integration.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design practices, documentation, and engineering processes.

  • Support supplier evaluations, design reviews, and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, test reports, and design artifacts.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Secret (ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Poly required)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in electrical/electronics design and development

  • Strong proficiency with circuit design, analog/digital electronics, and embedded hardware

  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, Mentor Graphics)

  • Solid understanding of signal integrity, power electronics, grounding, and EMI/EMC principles

  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies

  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications

Education:Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field

Experience: 

Technical Skills

  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, FPGAs, or SoC-based designs

  • Knowledge of high-speed digital design, RF systems, or power conversion technologies

  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards (UL, CE, FCC, IEC, ISO)

  • Experience with reliability engineering, DFMEA, or design-for-manufacturability (DFM/DFT)

  • Background in automotive, aerospace, industrial, medical, or consumer electronics environments
