Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance is required to start Travel Requirements: 5-10% Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Dam Neck) SUMMARY: WR has a potential opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer, Senior in support of our NAVSEA P&EDM contract. The candidate will be responsible for the design and documentation of mechanical and electromechanical components and systems, as well as supporting fabrication and integration efforts. Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: * Documenting and designing mechanical and electromechanical components and systems. * Developing complete drawing packages (Level-3 drawings, block diagrams, Bills of Materials [BOM], manufacturing, assembly, modeling, renderings, and installation) using Autodesk Inventor 3D. * Independently analyzing specifications and performance requirements to ensure designs are manufacturable with existing methods. * Determining the feasibility of new or modified components, considering cost, space, timeline, planning, and other technical or economic factors. * Independently researching and analyzing data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess design or application feasibility. * Creating detailed technical drawings and documentation packages based on extensive engineering experience. Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience: * Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. * Ten (10)+ years full-time professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the design, development, production, or testing of electronic, electromechanical, and/or hydro-electronic equipment. * Experience performing thermal analysis of components and conducting Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) in accordance with Military Standard procedures. * Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD and Inventor preferred), including strong skills in 3D modeling, BOM generation, and cost/quality assessment. *This position is contingent upon funding* The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment third-party background check which may include verification of any of the following: Employment history; Education and/or certifications; Criminal history; Driving Records; Other records or information related to the candidate’s suitability for the position. Position Salary Range: $114,000 - $159,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
