Job Title: Electronic TechnicianJob Description

The Electronic Technician supports the development, testing, troubleshooting, assembly, and calibration of analog and digital circuitry for industrial instrumentation, working from detailed schematics and specifications. This role focuses on printed circuit board (PCB) work, hands-on bench testing, and ensuring reliable performance of electronic systems used in advanced automated and robotic applications.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, testing, troubleshooting, assembly, and calibration of analog and digital circuitry for industrial instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot printed circuit boards (PCBs) using electronic test equipment and documented test plans.
  • Perform hands-on bench testing with oscilloscopes, meters, signal generators, and other typical electronic laboratory instruments.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and test plans to diagnose and resolve circuit issues.
  • Identify and verify electronic components such as diodes, resistors, integrated circuits, transistors, and other discrete devices on PCBs.
  • Solder and de-solder through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) components on circuit boards, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Prototype and modify PCB circuits using both through-hole and SMT components to support design changes and improvements.
  • Work with digital circuitry, including microprocessor buses, digital logic gates, multiplexers, and decoders, to support testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Work with analog circuitry, including operational amplifier circuits, filters, MOSFETs, BJTs, and power regulation circuitry.
  • Use crimping tools and related equipment to assemble and maintain reliable electrical connections.
  • Collaborate closely with a small electronics and IT team to share findings, resolve technical issues, and support ongoing projects.
  • Document test results, troubleshooting steps, and modifications to ensure accurate records and repeatable processes.
Essential Skills
  • AS, AA, or EET degree in Electronics, Electronic Technology, or a closely related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting electronics and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Hands-on bench testing skills with typical electronic laboratory test instruments such as oscilloscopes, meters, and signal generators.
  • Proficiency with soldering irons and soldering techniques for both through-hole and SMT components.
  • Ability to use crimping tools to assemble reliable electrical connections.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and test plans.
  • Experience with PCB troubleshooting, including component-level fault isolation and repair.
  • Familiarity with digital circuitry, including microprocessor buses, digital logic gates, multiplexers, and decoders.
  • Familiarity with analog circuitry, including operational amplifier circuits, filters, MOSFETs, BJTs, and power regulation circuitry.
  • Ability to identify electronic components such as diodes, resistors, integrated circuits, transistors, and other discrete devices.
  • Experience prototyping and modifying PCB circuits using through-hole and SMT components.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics, including testing, diagnosis, and repair of circuit boards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with industrial instrumentation or automated electronic systems.
  • Background in supporting development and testing of analog and digital circuits in a laboratory or product environment.
  • Comfort working in a team-oriented environment with engineers and technicians.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Interest in working with advanced technology solutions used in energy, industrial, infrastructure, aerospace, transportation, and related sectors.
Work Environment

The role is based in an office and laboratory environment within a headquarters facility that supports advanced automated and robotic technologies. You will work closely with an IT and electronics team of approximately 10–12 people in a collaborative, team-oriented setting. The broader organization provides technology-enabled asset protection solutions for critical energy, industrial, and public infrastructure across a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, power generation, public infrastructure, chemicals, aerospace and defense, transportation, metals, pharmaceuticals, and food processing. The facility offers access to typical electronic laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, signal generators, soldering stations, and crimping tools to perform bench testing and PCB work.
