Description & Requirements
Bloomberg delivers critical information in a world where information matters. We give influential decision-makers in business, finance, and government an edge by connecting them to a dynamic network of news, data, and ideas. At Bloomberg, you'll be encouraged to take ownership, think creatively, and continuously push beyond what's possible.
As electronic trading continues to evolve, financial institutions depend on reliable, low latency connectivity to execute business critical workflows. Bloomberg's Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team ensures the stability, performance, and reliability of these production integrations by providing world class technical support to clients across global financial markets.
What's the role?
As the Enterprise Technology Specialist - Electronic Trading Support, you'll become a trusted technical partner supporting Bloomberg's electronic trading and enterprise connectivity solutions for some of the world's largest banks, asset managers, hedge funds, exchanges, broker-dealers, and trading firms.
Acting as a Level 2 escalation point for Bloomberg Technical Support, you'll provide production support for mission critical client integrations, helping clients troubleshoot complex application and workflow issues involving technologies such as FIX, APIs, MQ, SFTP, XML, and Bloomberg Enterprise products.
This is a highly visible, client-facing role where you'll investigate production issues, analyze message flows, identify root causes, and partner closely with Engineering and Product teams to deliver long term solutions. Rather than simply resolving incidents, the team focuses on understanding why issues occurred, preventing them from recurring, and helping clients maintain stable, resilient production environments.
Success in this role requires a combination of technical curiosity, strong analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills. You'll become a trusted advisor to clients, helping ensure their trading workflows remain stable, efficient, and reliable.
We'll trust you to:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues involving Bloomberg Enterprise products, FIX connectivity, APIs, MQ, SFTP, XML, and related integrations.
  • Analyze application behavior, message flows, and production environments to identify root causes and restore service as quickly as possible.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to improve system reliability, reduce recurring incidents, and enhance client workflows.
  • Support clients through complex production issues while providing clear, timely, and professional communication throughout the resolution process.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients by combining strong technical expertise with exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure a seamless transition for clients as they move from implementation into ongoing production support.
  • Perform root cause analysis following production incidents and identify opportunities to improve operational resilience, documentation, and support processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through knowledge sharing, process enhancements, and operational automation initiatives.

Who you are
You're energized by solving complex technical problems and enjoy working directly with clients to keep critical trading workflows running smoothly. You're naturally curious, communicate well under pressure, and enjoy collaborating across Engineering, Product, and client teams to find long term solutions not just quick fixes.
You thrive in fast-paced production environments, enjoy learning new technologies, and take pride in delivering exceptional client experiences.
You'll need to have:
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting enterprise applications or production environments within the financial services industry.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting application connectivity or integration issues across enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with one or more financial messaging or integration technologies such as FIX, MQ, SFTP, XML, or Web APIs.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast paced production environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
We'd love to see:
  • Experience supporting electronic trading platforms, Order Management Systems (OMS), or capital markets applications.
  • Exposure to broker dealers, exchanges, hedge funds, asset managers, or regulatory reporting workflows.
  • Experience working with data transformation or ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, MuleSoft, TIBCO, Dell Boomi) or transformation languages such as XSLT, Python, or Perl.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, or Linux/UNIX environments.
  • Familiarity with asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Options, or Derivatives and their associated order and trade lifecycle.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis within production support or application support environments.
