Travel is required, hotel accommodation and a daily per diem allowance are provided by Heartland.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Master Electrician (ME) is responsible for leading and managing the safe construction, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of advanced commercial electrical systems for wireless and wireline telecommunications through compliance of NEC and all applicable jurisdiction requirements. This position requires achieving and maintaining licensure through multiple state and local jurisdictions, obtaining permits, initiating inspections, leading and training our Electrical Division. The Master Electrician is committed to carrying out the company's electrical safety policies and standards, expectations, preventing problems and issues before they arise while always striving for continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Obey all company standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude that reflects Heartland Solutions Corp’s mission and standards
  • Inspect all Personal Protective Equipment daily
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local regulations are met
  • Ensure corporate compliance and quality standards are met or exceeded
  • Must always exhibit safe & courteous driving habits while driving a company vehicle
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle to & from sites daily, and frequently for long hours
  • Provide timely updates of electrical teams to Operations Manager and Project Management team
  • Provide leadership and management to field personnel to ensure that the mission and core values of Heartland Solutions are followed
  • Assist with training and direction of field personnel through safety, quality and efficiency to work more effectively
  • Assist in daily JSA meetings, safety, and quality tailgate meetings while working with and training crews
  • Work alongside company Safety Director to maintain safe work environments
  • Complete periodic required safety site inspections
  • Monitor safety process of employees and contractors
  • Ensure that all appropriate permits, NTP, and lease status approvals have been received prior to beginning construction
  • Coordinate all ordering for services, equipment, materials, and activities of outside vendors that are needed for the project
  • Collaborate with operations management in scheduling of electrical crews
  • Coordinate and maintain a timeline with project management team for milestones and deliverables, and ensure each project is progressing according to the schedule
  • Conduct bid walks and preconstruction meetings
  • Visit the job site on the first day of construction if the project is new to Heartland Tower Solutions, job site requires special access or if the crew is new to the program.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel, make sure they are completed accurately and on time
  • Ensure quality construction standards and compliance of project plans are met or exceeded
  • Coordinate quality assurance process and resolution, including all punch-list items
  • Make sure the appropriate information, photos, reports, and testing is completed for each closeout by having crew double check prior to leaving the site
  • Lead others by example
  • The Master Electrician may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested by the senior management of the company, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.

  • Must have extensive electrical knowledge & skills

  • Must have extensive knowledge & experience of proper use of basic construction hand tools, insulated electrician’s tools and common power tools
  • Knowledge & experience of basic computer operation (Windows, Microsoft Office 365, other industry systems, etc.)
  • Knowledge & experience of rigging and hand signals
  • Must be able to work on energized circuits
  • Must be self-motivated and team oriented
  • Ability to multi-task while on various job sites and projects

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, intermediate vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move and/or carry equipment up/down steps and ladders
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE)
  • High school diploma/ GED required
  • Must have proficient understanding of NEC, state and local commercial building and electrical code
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures within the wireless construction industry
  • Must have (at least 3 years) of field experience cellular site construction and extensive knowledge in telecommunications construction
  • Must have (at least 3 years) of management experience (management experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred)
  • At least 3 years of additional work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, other industry systems, etc.
  • Required training:
    • OSHA 30

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must have your own basic hand tools
  • Must be self-motivated and able to learn quickly
  • Must be willing to travel frequently and when required
  • Must be local, willing to relocate to this area
  • Must hold & maintain a valid unrestricted driver’s license and be insurable by Heartland’s insurance provider
  • Willing to work long hours, weekends, non-structured schedule, etc.
  • DOT Certification (DOT physical)
  • CDL (preferred but not required)
