Position Overview
A maintenance mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment with Sorrel River Ranch & Spa. Performing routine preventative maintenance checks, troubleshooting malfunctions, and ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical systems by utilizing various hand and power tools, all while adhering to safety regulations.
Position Responsibilities
  • Plumbing: Includes the repair, replacement, and installation of faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, and kitchen appliances.
  • Electrical: Includes the repair, replacement, and installation of power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling fans and climate control systems.
  • General carpentry: Includes assisting with the repairing of floors, roofs, and doors and installation of new products as needed. This could include windows, carpets, light fixtures and drywall repairs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment and components.
  • Maintain all refrigeration, HVAC, Kitchen, and laundry equipment.
  • Work independently and as a team with and around mechanical and chemical systems.
  • Working independently and as a team with electrical voltages up to and including 480-voltcircuits and controls.
  • Working independently and as a team with refrigerants.
  • Use of appropriate hand tools, such as drills, hammers, knives, wrenches, and screwdrivers, etc.
  • Working in hot and cold environments.
  • Use of all personal protections equipment’s (PPE), lock out tag out and all necessary safety equipment.
  • Able to work with systems such as telephone switches, guest and employee internet networks, guest room door lock systems, and work order systems.
  • Receive directions from management on daily assignments or projects and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Receive directions for house calls via radio and respond promptly and appropriately.
  • Complete appropriate documents and logs for work assigned daily.
  • Any other tasks assigned.
Education/Experience
  • Previous general maintenance experience in a hotel setting
  • Completion of a registered apprenticeship program
  • Valid journeyman license or certification in the relevant trade
  • Previous HVAC, mechanical, plumbing maintenance experience required.
  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment is required; commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience with response to emergency situations.
  • Thorough working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and refrigeration systems.
  • Good communications, diligence, time management, and guest satisfaction skills are required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, kneel and bend over for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lbs.
