Job description

Senior Electrical Estimator & Project Manager

Company Name: Doopon Electric LLC

Location: Elkridge, MD (Regional Project Travel Required)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Project Scope: Commercial and Residential New Construction & Renovations

Pay Range: $60,000.00 โ€“ $110,000.00 per year

Incentives: Weekly Pay Cycle + Performance-Driven Sales Commission Tied Directly to Bid Profitability

The Opportunity

Master Pre-Construction Strategy, Command the Estimating Pipeline, and Drive Profitable Project Lifecycles.

Doopon Electric LLC is seeking a high-caliber, numbers-driven Senior Electrical Estimator & Project Manager to serve as our lead pre-construction authority and dual-market division manager. While this hybrid position bridges the gap between bidding and active field execution, its primary core is expert-level electrical estimating. We need a professional who can fundamentally own the bidding pipeline, engineer highly profitable cost models, and leverage technical bidding accuracy to secure competitive dual-market contracts.

This role is tailored for an analytical trade expert who treats a set of blueprints like a financial roadmap. You will have total autonomy over material takeoffs, labor unit pricing, and value engineering strategies for complex commercial power distributions and high-end residential systems. If you are a calculation-minded specialist who wants your financial success directly multiplied by your bidding performance, we provide the advanced estimating platforms, tech tools, and uncapped commission incentives to elevate your career.

Key Responsibilities

You will hold ultimate accountability over pre-construction cost accuracy, bidding strategies, and matching those estimates to successful field execution:

  • Advanced Pre-Construction Estimating: Lead the formulation of complex, highly competitive material takeoffs and labor-hour estimates for major commercial and residential projects.
  • Value Engineering & Margin Protection: Analyze architectural plans and specifications to identify cost-saving alternatives, proactively protecting margins before a single wire is pulled.
  • Bidding Pipeline Management: Oversee the structural assembly of final bid proposals, ensuring perfect accuracy in component pricing, vendor quotes, and subcontractor parameters.
  • Full Lifecycle Oversight: Transition won bids smoothly from the estimating table to active project delivery, managing budgets, client negotiations, and change orders through final inspection.
  • Strategic Client & GC Relations: Represent the technical front-end of Doopon Electric, building relationships with general contractors, developers, and owners to source high-yield bidding opportunities.
  • Field Alignment & Tracking: Coordinate with field personnel to ensure actual labor hours and material usage map directly back to your original estimating models, diagnosing cost variances in real time.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

  • Master-Level Estimating Tenure: Proven, referenceable professional background writing comprehensive electrical estimates, material takeoffs, and labor scaling models for ground-up commercial and deep residential renovations.
  • Advanced Blueprint & Document Literacy: Elite proficiency in reading, interpreting, and cross-referencing intricate electrical schematics, engineering plans, MEP specifications, and contract structures.
  • Code & Systems Fluency: Strong technical command of national electrical codes (NEC), commercial power distributions, control wiring layouts, and residential building constraints.
  • Field Leadership Background: Demonstrated experience in field management, successfully acting as a reliable lead technician, foreman, or construction project manager to properly understand how estimating units translate to the dirt.
  • Mobility & Site Deployment: Willingness to travel up to 20% of your working hours to visit local client sites, conduct physical pre-bid job walk-throughs, and review active field operations.

Preferred Technical Profiles:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related, hands-on experience focused heavily on electrical estimating and controls trade management.
  • High proficiency utilizing digital electrical takeoff systems, advanced estimating software, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Completion of a formal trade program, an Associate's/Bachelor's degree, or possession of a valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  • Professional bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and written communication skills to support a diverse subcontractor and client base.

Compensation & Premium Benefits

We treat our estimators and pre-construction leaders as primary business partners, backing your analytical expertise with a comprehensive rewards structure:

  • Top-Tier Compensation Matrix: $60,000.00 โ€“ $110,000.00 base salary paired with performance-driven sales commission incentives built on won, profitable contracts.
  • Predictable Cash Flow: Reliable, consistent weekly pay cycle.
  • Travel Provisions: Access to a dedicated company service vehicle for project travel needs, alongside a daily per diem allowance when traveling outside of a 30-mile radius.
  • Technology & Tool Packaging: Fully loaded technology setup including a corporate smartphone or tablet device for seamless digital field tracking and mobile estimating access.
  • Asset Support Framework: Comprehensive personal tool replacement program and all essential field safety equipment provided from day one.
  • Continuous Trade Development: Ongoing company-paid technical, safety, and specialized manufacturer certification training programs.
  • Corporate Culture Perks: Direct access to active internal employee referral bonus programs and scheduled company-wide team-building events.
