Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Senior Electrical Power Engineer job for our direct client. In this Senior Electrical Power Engineer job, you will be responsible for the electrical design of next-generation, high-reliability undersea products. This role includes analog and digital circuit design involving microcontrollers, FPGAs, and electro-optic components such as photodiodes and lasers. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, optical, and reliability engineers to design fault-tolerant circuits for undersea environments, develop verification and qualification plans, and support factory test and product introduction into manufacturing. This position reports to the Director of Lightwave Technology.

Senior Electrical Power Engineer job responsibilities:

  • Conduct analog and digital circuit design and simulation
  • Plan and execute qualification testing for new products
  • Contribute to hands-on experimental work on prototype components, circuits, and assemblies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal partners and external suppliers
  • Develop and implement verification and qualification plans for new designs
  • Write factory test plans and support product introduction into manufacturing
  • Ensure all work aligns with company policies, procedures, and core values
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Senior Electrical Power Engineer job qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Physics, or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required
  • Experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, data analysis, and computer programming
  • Strong experimental and laboratory skills
  • Ability to solder and complete electronic circuit assembly and wiring
  • Self-starter with the ability to proactively identify issues and recommend solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with single-mode optical fiber, fiber optic components, and optical measurement techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and proven track record of execution
