Business Title: Electrical Motor/Actuator Design Engineer

Location: Irvine, CA 92618

Job Type: Direct hire (Contract is also an option)

Work Setting: Onsite

Job Description:

  • Supports the department’s Subject Mater Expert (SME) in the sizing, design, mechanical drawings, and testing of electric motors operating at speeds up to 70,000 rpm used in our fans, pumps, and compressors.
  • Performs electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analysis using simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
  • Creates detailed CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Develops motor performance specifications and validation test plans. Conducts performance testing (efficiency, torque, speed, thermal, vibration, noise).
  • Analyzes and optimize motor efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical, Electrical
  • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory and motor design principles
  • Understanding of winding techniques, lamination stacks, magnets, and insulation systems.
