JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Millwright

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Production and Shipping Supervisor, the Millwright is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs. Removal of old machinery and installation of new machinery.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:

ยท Ensure equipment is properly maintained to meet quality, productivity, and reliability expectations.

ยท Troubleshoot and diagnose machinery breakdowns.

ยท Identify opportunities for safety, quality, and reliability improvements.

ยท Conduct periodic inspections, completing preventative maintenance requirements, identifying and repairing or replacing faulty or suspect parts.

ยท Adheres to customer service commitments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

ยท Millwright Certification is an asset.

ยท Journeyman Millwright is preferred

ยท Minimum two to three years skilled maintenance experience is required.

ยท Experience working in a lumber mill or lumber yard is desirable.

ยท Must have own tools.

ยท Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

ยท Bending, lifting, and reaching during course of shift.

ยท First Aid Certificate is an asset.

ยท Hydraulic system knowledge.

ยท PLC controls.

ยท Electrical knowledge.
