Journeyman ElectricianPosition Overview:HM Cragg is an 100% employee-owned company with an extremely impressive growth history. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance and repair projects of electrical systems and components specifically focused on the Telecommunications, Wireless, Utility and UPS markets.Reporting Relationship: The Journeyman Electrician will report to the Service Manager.Responsibilities/Accountabilities:ยท Perform skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for building & grounds and wire moldยท Perform the installation of transformers, control boards, electronic circuits, coils, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, switches, fuses, and related electrical equipmentยท Perform installations of backup generator systemsยท Determine modifications required when obstructions are met while installing electrical systemsยท Read electrical blueprints, plans, and schematics.ยท Develops strong line of communication with Electrical Manager/Master Electrician and within all departments utilizing electrical serviceยท Ability to work from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, and/or verbal instructionsยท Proficient in the use of standard electrician's tools and measuring/testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, and testing lampยท Perform other duties and assignments as necessaryRequirements:Skills/Knowledgeยท Strong knowledge of DC power equipment, specifically in telecommunications, switchgear & control, and UPS industriesยท Strong knowledge of generators, transfer switches, and distribution equipmentยท Knowledge of electrical principles, applications, techniques, procedures, code, and equipmentยท Knowledge of local and national electrical codeยท Demonstrates proper use of material handling equipmentยท Proactively stays up to date on safety training, compliance, and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT requirementsยท Adheres to company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and Safety Policy Personal Attributesยท Demonstrates honesty and integrity in work and relationshipsยท Demonstrates innovation/creativity in workยท Possesses strong work ethic and takes ownership of both company and client goals/objectivesยท Focused on understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer expectationsยท Focused on collaboration and teamwork for the mutual success of the company and its employeesTravel Expectations:ยท Weekly travel up to 75% depending on customer needsยท Generally home every weekendPosting Qualifications:ยท Licensed or the ability to be licensed in: IA, MN, ND, SD, MT, WY, WI, NE KS and MOยท Ability to work at various heightsยท Ability to lift items greater than 25lbs (and up to 150 lbs.) repetitively on a regular basisยท Ability to maintain a valid driver's licenseยท Must pass a physical exam, background check and pre-employment drug screening.At HM Cragg, we invest in your growth with training, tuition assistance, and development opportunities, including the potential for advancement within the company.
