Job description

We have an exciting opportunity as an Instrument and Control Electrical Technician to join our team! 

The successful candidate will maintain, Troubleshoot, repair and install electrical equipment and controls, electronic instrumentation, as well as integrated network communication systems at the Citizens Thermal Chilled Water plant. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining electrical distribution equipment operating at voltages up to 5kv; as well as, DCS, PLC, computer control systems and calibration / testing of process instrumentation.

Minimum Salary: $67,000 (Grade 8)


  • Emergency repairs (including after hours and weekends).
  • Install, troubleshoot, test, calibrate, electric and electronic instrumentation and equipment, many associated with large capacity chiller units, and process controls.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment and controls, such as variable speed drives, PLCs, motor control systems, and Foxboro DCS system.
  • Maintain electrical switchgear and other electrical distribution equipment up to and including 4160 volts.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain communication networks, including fiber optical and Ethernet based components.
  • Support customers and other groups as needed (Operations, Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, and Contractors).
  • Maintaining needed material and data to support electrical and electronic equipment.

  • AAS Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent. (equivalent could be a Journeyman
    Electricians card for an approved apprenticeship).
  • 5 years’ experience in electrical or electronic field.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).
  • Experience with blueprint and electrical schematic drawing interpretation.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Master Electrical License – from National Block exam.
  • ISA Certified Controls System Technician.
  • A+ Certification for computer hardware / software.
  • Universal Refrigerant Certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • NFPA 70E / OHSA safety training certification.
  • AutoCad experience.
