Application Engineer with Automotive Experience

Hioki USA is a subsidiary of Hioki E.E. Corporation headquartered in Nagano, Japan, a company that designs and manufactures electrical and electronic measuring instruments since 1935. HIOKI electrical measuring instruments are used in a broad range of industries: from the design of electric vehicles, manufacturing of batteries, solar power generation and maintenance and inspection of electrical equipment to the testing of electronic components used in smartphones, computers and military equipment. At Hioki USA, you will be part of a GROWING team that is dedicated to our twin doctrine of "Respect for Humanity" and "Contribution to Society" based on interdependence teamwork and honesty.

Join our fast-growing company as an Application Engineer (Electrical) in our Dallas office. We are looking for a self-motivated, creative individual with excellent interpersonal skills and technical knowledge. You will work closely with engineers, scientists, academic researchers, and professionals across various industries throughout the Americas. In this exciting role, you will learn about cutting-edge technologies in Lithium-Ion battery manufacturing, mobility and automotive, renewable energy, electronic components, and power electronics.

Key Responsibilities: Assess customer needs and provide appropriate solutions during the sales process. Provide technical assistance and promptly respond to customer inquiries. Work with Sales and Management to develop and implement revenue growth strategies. Create and deliver presentations, application notes, and white papers. Conduct product demonstrations and attend trade shows as needed. Recommend enhancements to Hioki's existing product line. Provide product training to internal sales associates, sales representatives, distributors, and end users.


Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 2+ years of experience in test and measurement, applications, electrical design, system integration, or a similar role. Proficiency with test and measurement instruments such as data acquisition equipment, battery testers, LCR meters, and power analyzers.


Desired Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of electronic principles and a genuine interest in technology. Ability to understand complex technical concepts and a desire to teach others. Strong relationship-building skills with customers and internal teammates. Effective presentation skills in large and small settings. Strong writing skills to communicate with clarity and conviction. Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to travel on short notice and participate in occasional overseas conference calls. Experience in electronic component design, manufacturing, or testing, with emphasis on batteries, the automotive industry, or renewable energy is highly desirable.
