MMR Constructors, Inc. is accepting resumes for Electrical Superintendents who will work out of the Canonsburg, Pennsylvania office and on upcoming projects in other locations. 

The Electrical superintendent will oversee all aspects of safe execution of construction, commissioning, and handover of electrical infrastructure including but not limited to Industrial facilities, electrical switchyard stations, 5kv-100kv facility substations. The electrical superintendent will also track progress, coordinate schedules, plan lookaheads & work plans.

Job Duration: 2 years

Job Schedule: Project Specific hours TBD; when working in office 5/8's

Rate: $62/hour

Per diem: $125/day (must meet mileage requirement - outside 50 miles from jobsite)

Duties and Responsibilities of Electrical Superintendent (including but not limited to):

  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints.
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit/ cable tray and pulls wiring through conduit or lays cable in cable tray.
  • Connects wiring to switch gears, junction boxes, lighting fixtures and equipment.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, hot stick, multi meter and/ or oscilloscope.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Repairs faulty equipment or systems. Tools used include rulers, hand tools, hack saws, pipe threaders, conduit benders, ladders, etc.
  • Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts.
  • Disassembles defective electrical equipment such as motors, switch gears and circuit breakers.
  • Loads transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Assists in lifting, positioning and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, cable trays and motors.
  • Implement and enforce all QA/QC procedures
  • Attend safety training as directed
  • Commitment to the company goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures
  • Employee must be able to travel to and from the jobsite via personal vehicle or other public form of transportation

Qualifications/Credentials of Electrical Superintendent:

  • Must have a minimum of 8-10 years' experience in supervision
  • Must have 2-3 years' experience in a leadership role as Foreman or General Foreman
  • Must have 3-5 years' experience supervising crews on industrial projects
  • Proven experience running large scale projects
