POSITION SUMMARY

Senior Electrical Engineers do research, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. They design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. A Senior Electrical Engineer is a professional (P3) who applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities may include managing projects and processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Management including scheduling product development and engineering efforts.

  • Lead project/product development and lead multi-company-multi-disciplinary engineering team in the identification and recommendation of hardware needs and requirements for project/product.

  • Plan and prepare for the development of designs for new products, prototype, or re-design, including sourcing parts and writing technical documentation.

  • Facilitate the preparation of block diagrams and detail circuit schematics and layout of proposed or existing hardware designs.

  • Recommend software specifications for the hardware/software interface of new products.

  • Participates in the preparation of cross-divisional project proposals.

  • Develop, oversee, and document testing and evaluation of designs and products.

  • Evaluate and investigate product failures, and recommend repair or design modifications based on specifications, cost, resources, and risks.

  • Support manufacturing group in production of product and troubleshoot any related design issues.

  • Provide technical support, including documentation, customers.

  • Other related duties as required for business operations.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (Electronic Design Specialty)

EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 8 years combined work experience in design and development of electronic Products including circuit board design.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize appropriately, with minimal supervision.

  • Thorough understanding of analog and digital electronic systems in various applications.

  • Proficient in use of laboratory test equipment such as multi-meters, scopes, logical analyzers.

  • Experience with full cycle product development.

  • Proficient in the application of engineering analysis methods and interpreting results to convey information and provide documentation.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Experience building prototypes/demos based on drawings, specifications, and/or other information.
