Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical concepts in support of project initiatives that will aid in the advancement of PSB product lines and broaden PSB's technical platforms and features

  • Determine electrical technical feasibility of new technology proposals

  • Develop new product specifications (wide range of technologies)

  • Create electrical designs in support of new technology efforts

  • Schematic development

  • Low volume PCBA builds

  • Works with Electrical and Mechanical Engineer(s) to optimize compatibility of electrical and mechanical portions of product design

  • Works closely with the project lead throughout ideation, concept development, and feasibility testing

  • Completes summary documentation, including research white papers

  • Executes the company's Intellectual Property Strategy by recognizing and disclosing inventions and supporting patent applications

  • Supports development of instruction manuals, training manuals, and other consumer service information during technology transfer phase

  • Actively participates in and conducts competitive product analysis

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of electronic design experience

  • 4 -year technical degree from an accredited institution, with an emphasis on electrical or electronic engineering

  • Experience in a wide array of technologies is preferred

  • Self-starting, self-motivated, and a goal-oriented team member

  • Proficient user of Schematic Capture software (Altium a plus)

  • Exceptional at building and testing prototype PCBA

  • Proficient user of graphical presentation and documentation tools

  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of common Office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Possesses excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Has ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects at one time to meet deadlines

  • Possesses both the ability to work independently and work with a team to accomplish tasks

  • Travel both domestically and internationally (10%)

Accountabilities:

  • Complete assigned projects according to project timelines

  • Complete all project documentation

  • Complete assigned projects within budget

  • Executes the company's Intellectual Property Strategy by designing with the goal of patentable designs

  • Ultimately accountable to the continued success and growth of PSB

Relationships:

  • Reports directly to Director of Engineering

  • Maintains an effective working relationship with team members throughout PSB

  • Maintains an effective working relationship with product suppliers, contract manufacturers, and contract consultants
