Job description

As an R&D Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and improving electrical systems and components used in power distribution, control panels, and industrial automation applications. This role will focus on advancing QES product offerings through innovation, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for switchgear, control panels, and power distribution systems
  • Utilize AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical to create and maintain detailed electrical drawings and documentation
  • Perform system analysis, load calculations, and component selection to ensure safe and efficient electrical systems
  • Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and production teams to integrate electrical systems into enclosures, skids, and EHouse structures
  • Research and implement new technologies, components, and improvements to enhance product performance and cost efficiency
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and validation reports
  • Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure functionality and compliance
  • Ensure systems meet UL, NEC, NEMA, and other applicable industry and regulatory standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and manufacturing efficiency

    Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 35 years of powerrelated electrical engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
  • Strong understanding of power distribution systems, control panels, and industrial electrical systems
  • Experience with electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of UL, NEC, NEMA, and ISO standards
  • Proficiency in electrical systems development, troubleshooting, and testing
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a crossfunctional team environment

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with switchgear, VFD systems, or power distribution equipment
  • Familiarity with EHouse or modular electrical building systems
  • Knowledge of PLCs, industrial automation systems, and control integration
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and product development
