Job description

Who You Are
The Engineer (Electrical Hardware) will be responsible for the design and implementation of control systems for painter and sealer robotic systems. The approach of standardization, cost down, accuracy, and increased efficiency is essential to meet the expectations of our internal and external customers.
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused problem-solver who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams and has the ability to analyze complex problems, trouble shoot electrical circuits, identify root causes, and offer professional solutions.
How It's Done
  • Control panel and cable design for paint finishing and sealer robotic control systems.
  • Configure FANUC America's paint and sealer robots to meet specific project requirements.
  • Attend project kickoff meetings and take active participation; obtain a clear understanding from the Project Manager and team of what is expected from the Electrical Engineering group, clarify any discrepancies, and ensure project schedule is followed and all deadlines are met.
  • Complete specification of electrical components.
  • Review and clarify customer specifications.
  • Review electrical drawings for completeness and accuracy and release installation drawings including schematics for review with the installation engineer.
  • Work closely with several other team members in the Paint Division to provide process driven system solutions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits.

What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Prior experience with control systems including PLCs, transformers, safety relays, light curtains, sensors, motors, circuit breakers, encoders, wire sizing, cabling and grounding.
  • AutoCAD and/or Eplan experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical codes NEC, NFPA, ANSI, NEMA

What Would Be Even Better
  • Minimum three years of experience designing industrial control panels.
  • Prior industrial automation experience.
