Job description

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support the design, construction, and startup of industrial electrical systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with client requirements. The Lead Electrical Engineer will work closely with engineers, designers, project managers, manufacturing personnel, clients, and suppliers to execute projects from initial design through commissioning.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of industrial electrical systems projects.
  • Develop power and control system designs and perform engineering calculations.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities.
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining schedules and delivering excellent client service.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and design specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Experience designing industrial electrical systems within a consulting engineering firm or design-build electrical contractor environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in some of the following areas:
  • Power Systems
  • AC Drives
  • Lighting Systems
  • Lighting Controls
  • Gas Detection Systems
  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Lightning Protection Systems
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA standards.
  • Experience with Revit, SKM Power Tools, and lighting calculation software.
  • Experience with medium voltage systems, power regeneration, and facility energy reduction initiatives is preferred.
  • Understanding of equipment installation and startup requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Ability to travel to customer facilities, including occasional overnight stays for design meetings, installation support, and commissioning activities.
