Job description

Position Summary

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Electrical Engineer to serve as the vital electrical component test link between design and manufacturing. In this role, you will drive the development of cutting-edge thermal control and energy conversion products, ensuring a seamless transition from prototype to production. This position focuses on the development of novel, robust test hardware. We are seeking a versatile engineer with a unique blend of electronics design experience, programming skills, and the ability to mechanically fabricate and assemble highly custom test fixtures. Successful candidates will provide innovative engineering in the design and layout of PCBs, programming of controllers, and design/implementation of analog circuitry and testing.

Specific Duties and Competencies:

  • Design and fabricate test fixtures for engineering development, qualification, and production of thermal control and energy conversion equipment and products
  • Collaborate with the product development team to design for testability, review requirements, develop qualification plans, and transition products to the manufacturing stage
  • Design, lay out, assemble, and test printed circuit boards (PCBs) for a wide array of applications and equipment
  • Develop and maintain data acquisition systems, automated test scripts, and GUIs using Python, LabVIEW, PLC, Visual Studio, and/or C/C++
  • Program microcontrollers to interface with various peripherals utilizing common communication protocols
  • Design and execute the mechanical integration and physical fabrication of custom test fixtures

Position Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.3 or AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology with industry experience
  • Internship experience required for entry level candidates
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment and lab instruments (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), etc.)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment
  • A constructive mindset for systematic debugging and root cause analysis of circuits and firmware
  • Proficient technical documentation skills
  • Excellent professional communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of electronic components and power supplies including how to vet them for various applications
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing standards (IPC) and regulatory compliance (UL, ETL, FCC, MIL) is a plus
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards is a plus
  • Knowledge of CAD software desired
  • United States Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions
