Job description

Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer – Senior Project Manager to lead complex electrical engineering projects from concept through completion. This role involves managing multifaceted residential and commercial projects, overseeing system design, mentoring technical teams, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in electrical and ICAT systems, strong leadership in project management, and a proven ability to coordinate across disciplines. Success in this position requires exceptional communication, creative problem-solving, and the ability to guide projects through every phase, from design to construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee Electrical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity for residential and commercial projects
  • Prepare the concept design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report
  • Design Electrical systems including but not limited to electrical distribution, transfer switching, UPS, grounding and bonding, lighting and control systems, life safety and emergency systems, and fire alarm.
  • Design for ICAT services including but not limited to communication systems, AV systems, security access and monitoring systems, equipment, and structured cabling.
  • Write construction specifications
  • Analyze customer design proposals and specifications to determine cost effective solutions
  • Ensure professional quality services in all facets of work
  • Coach and mentor a project team to ensure technical accuracy of project deliverables
  • Manage a team to ensure cost effective, safe, and timely completion of projects to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, documentation, and other factors necessary for success
  • Work with clients to deliver the end project
  • Prepare and review specification and concept reports
  • Provide mentoring to technical staff, assigning duties as required
  • Visit the site once under construction when required
  • Provide quality and cost control during the design and construction process
  • Maintain project schedules and project cost summaries to track work progress, budget status, and manpower resource utilization
  • Escalate and identify the need for additional services and fees
  • Assist with Shop drawing reviews as required
  • Overtime as required


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Electrical or other relevant engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Other professional qualifications will be considered coupled with relevant experience
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E)
  • Completion of a degree or diploma in project management will be considered an asset
  • LEED accreditation is an asset
  • Experience and Requirements:
  • 5+ years of industry related experience
  • Consulting engineering background is preferred
  • Strong understanding of engineering contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers
  • Mechanical and Electrical coordination experience
  • Construction experience will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills
  • Advanced interpersonal, team building, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders
