Position Overview:
The Lead Engineer - Plant Control Solutions will be responsible for supporting the business throughout the project estimation, design, execution and commissioning phase of electrical power plants with INNIO Jenbacher gas engines.
This position will be based at our Houston, TX office.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Operate as the functional (electrical) lead for balance-of-plant and power plant projects, ensuring compliance with internal and external schedules
  • Define and review technical specifications and the arrangement of electrical equipment
  • Support commercial teams during the offer phase by addressing ad hoc technical requests
  • Perform detailed engineering throughout the project execution phase (e.g., wiring diagram design, PLC programming, software coding, bill of materials, etc.)
  • Formulate network topologies and bus communication systems, incorporating cutting-edge cybersecurity standards
  • Design, implement, and maintain interfaces between OT systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, DCS) and IT networks
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers and partners during face-to-face meetings
  • Create and continuously improve customer documentation
  • Performs other duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy or EPC industry
  • Hands-on experience with industrial control systems, network protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, TCP/IP, IEC 61850), and IT infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud platforms and IIoT solutions is a plus
  • Experience in selecting, configuring and managing large volumes of networking equipment (e.g. managed switches, firewalls, etc.) is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to as business demands
  • Valid driver's license and passport
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of synchronous generators and/or other DERs (Distributed Energy Resources) is a plus
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for industrial environments (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443) is a plus
  • Proficiency in ePlan P8 is considered advantageous is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Ability manage timelines and partner with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels within the US and Headquarter in Jenbach / Austria
