Position Overview
- Hours: Full-Time (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; flexibility required for field support, department growth initiatives, and operational needs. Occasional phone support until 8:30 PM and weekend availability may be required to support the successful launch and growth of the electrical division.)

- Reporting Structure: Reports directly to Operations Manager
Core Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Division Growth: Develop and execute a strategic plan to launch and scale the electrical division in alignment with company goals.
- P&L Accountability: Manage the department's budget, profit and loss (P&L), labor margins, and material costs to ensure maximum profitability.
- Process Optimization: Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for dispatching, pricing, invoicing, and customer service.
Team Management & Development
- Recruitment: Partner tightly with HR and recruiting to interview, select, and onboard top-tier residential and commercial electricians.
- Mentorship & Training: Build and execute continuous technical, customer service, and safety training programs for field technicians to improve skills and ensure code compliance.
- Performance Metrics: Set, monitor, and coach the team on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as callback rates, average ticket size, and customer satisfaction scores.
Compliance, Safety, & Quality Control
- Code Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations and repairs meet or exceed the National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local Georgia regulations.
- Permitting: Oversee the proper pull of permits and act as the primary point of contact for local code officials and inspectors.
- Safety First: Maintain a zero-incident safety culture by enforcing strict OSHA compliance, proper PPE usage, and safe field protocols.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- HVAC & Plumbing Integration: Collaborate closely with the HVAC and Plumbing directors to cross-sell services, coordinate complex installations (like generator hookups or panel upgrades for heat pumps), and optimize joint workflows.
Position Requirements
- Licensure: Valid and unrestricted Master Electrician License in the state of Georgia.
- Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of field experience in residential/commercial electrical work, with at least 3–5 years in a dedicated managerial or director-level role within the home services industry.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, inventory control, and strategic planning.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient with or the ability to quickly master field management platforms, specifically ServiceTitan.
- Compliance & Clean Record: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR check required), and pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand/bend for extended periods, work in varying environments, and lift up to 50+ lbs when supporting field crews.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Success
- Revenue & Profitability: Meeting or exceeding monthly gross profit margin and budget targets for the electrical division.
- Technician Retention: Maintaining low turnover rates through effective leadership, mentorship, and career path development.
- Customer Satisfaction: Maintaining a high Net Promoter Score (NPS) and excellent online reviews for electrical jobs.
- Callback Rate: Protecting craftsmanship standards by keeping warranty or callback rates under a strict target (typically < 2%).
