Description
Team Fishel , the Best Choice in Utility Engineering, is hiring a Professional Engineer for our Hampton, VA based Professional Services Group.
The Professional Engineer provides direct oversight of design and manages the quality assurance and quality control process for the work being performed by the Design team. You are responsible for performing engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic manner. You will be also responsible for evaluating and estimating all design work as well as assisting with design and project management of complex projects as needed. The Engineer checks cable sizing, voltage drop, flicker, and performs system modeling as needed as well as coordinates and schedules design resources and has responsibility for all engineering design on the project(s). You must be a Professional Engineer licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia and stamp drawings when required.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil, Environmental Engineering or other related discipline required
  • Professional Engineers License in the State of Virginia is required
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical distribution design principles
  • Maintain QA/QC processes and requirements
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, related codes, and standards
  • Abilities to plan and schedule work independently; to lead and teach Designers; to complete designs for large and/or complex systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Holding current Professional Engineer License in states beyond Virginia is a plus
