Job description

We're looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success - and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

As an Electrical Design Engineer at nVent Management Company, you will be a crucial technical resource responsible for the accuracy, quality, and intent of electrical project documentation. This internally focused role emphasizes detailed schematic and print review, NEC compliance, and prompt release of electrical drawings and EBOMs. You will handle several active projects, collaborate closely with external engineering leads, and offer technical assistance to Production while prioritizing design integrity.

  • Own the accuracy, quality, and electrical build intent across schematic reviews, print reviews, and EBOM and print releases for assigned projects

  • Lead detailed schematic and electrical print reviews to ensure builds are complete, clear, and ready for customer submittal

  • Lead the completion of initial electrical drawing packages, ensuring alignment with NEC requirements and internal electrical standards

  • Ensure adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and detailed electrical design intent throughout all released drawings and BOMs

  • Support Production by responding to design-related questions and resolving issues that arise during build and test phases

  • Manage a heavy active-project workload efficiently, maintaining focus and minimizing task switching across concurrent efforts

  • Participate in technical handoffs from external engineering leads, ensuring clear understanding of scope, assumptions, and development requirements

  • Provide assistance with EBOM and print release tasks

  • Assist with the assessment and selection of long-lead materials and major electrical equipment to support project schedules and build readiness

YOU HAVE:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent field experience (such as a Journeyman Electrician background), preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical build, electrical systems, manufacturing support, or field-based electrical work, preferred

  • Solid knowledge of electrical theory with the capability to read, interpret, and review detailed schematics and electrical prints

  • Experience crafting, reviewing, and releasing electrical bills of materials (EBOMs), preferred

  • Working knowledge of NEC requirements and the ability to apply them consistently during build review and release activities

  • Demonstrated capability to perform efficiently in concentrated settings while handling several ongoing projects

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production, and Project Management

  • Familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam (or other PDF annotation software), ERP systems such as Epicor (or similar), and Microsoft Office Suite, preferred

  • A meticulous attitude paired with a strong dedication to accuracy, quality, and the integrity of the build

WE HAVE:

  • A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day
