Job description

Company Description Modutek Corporation, founded in 1980, provides semiconductor manufacturing and wet bench equipment solutions for high-technology manufacturers and research facilities. The company offers advanced wet bench stations, wet processing and wet etching equipment, as well as chemical handling and chemical delivery systems. Modutek delivers complete wet process manufacturing solutions through system integration, working closely with customers from design approval through installation and final acceptance. The organization is known for reliability, strong customer service, and a commitment to quality supported by in-house engineering, manufacturing, and service teams.

Role Description The Electrical Control Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego County, CA. This role is responsible for installing, wiring, and testing electrical control systems for semiconductor wet process equipment, including panels, instrumentation, sensors, and related components. Day-to-day tasks include wiring electric panels using schematic and wiring diagram, and verifying system performance and safety. The technician collaborates with engineering and production teams to support system integration, assists with equipment start-up and commissioning at customer sites, and documents work performed in accordance with company procedures and industry standards. This role may also involve supporting continuous improvement initiatives for reliability, quality, and serviceability of Modutek’s equipment.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for electrical control systems and automated equipment.
  • Candidate should be able to read Electrical Schematic and Wiring Diagram and should be able to do wiring on the panel.
  • Candidates should possess solid Electricity knowledge, including working with AC/DC circuits, Low Voltage and High Voltage circuits, motor controls, and safety practices.
  • Relevant qualifications include experience with industrial control panels (PLC, relay logic, VFDs), semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing equipment, and basic understanding of wet process or chemical handling systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, use electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.), and follow established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented production and field service environment.
  • Preferred: Technical certification or associate degree in electrical technology, electronics, industrial maintenance, or a related field, and prior experience as an electrical technician in a manufacturing or process environment.
