Job Summary

The E&I Design Engineer specializes in the electrical, control, and instrumentation architecture for industrial Chemical Dispense Systems (CDS). This full-lifecycle engineering role combines front-end system design, drawing development and proposal support with active direct client management and field construction engineering. Prepare full drawings and specifications ready for stamping engineers’ reviews. The position serves as a primary client interface for technical design reviews, commercial clarifications, site design change resolutions (ECN/ECO), and field commissioning support for automated chemical delivery equipment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering & System Design

· Design electrical panel layouts, control schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and instrument loop diagrams for CDS cabinets, bulk delivery units, and chemical blending skids.

· Select and specify chemical-compatible instrumentation (ultrasonic flow meters, pressure transmitters, level sensors, leak detection loops, automated control valves) and hazardous area safety interlocks (Class I, Div 1/2 or Zone 0/1/2).

· Ensure panel and cabling designs comply with NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 497, UL 508A, and SEMI S2/S8 safety standards.

2. Client Communication & Commercial Support

· Direct Client Interface: Serve as the primary technical interface with clients throughout the project lifecycle—leading technical alignment meetings, design reviews, and weekly project status updates.

· Proposal & Bidding Support: Develop technical proposal packages, Scope of Work (SOW) documents, and design deviation lists for commercial tenders and RFQs.

· Costing & Vendor Reviews: Conduct Material Take-Offs (MTO) for accurate BOM cost modeling, review subcontractor quotes, and support commercial teams during contract clarifications and value-engineering discussions.

3. Field Construction & Engineering Change Support

· Site Technical Resolution: Partner directly with field construction crews, electrical contractors, and client facility teams to resolve site constructability issues, cable routing challenges, and equipment clashes.

· Change Management (ECN/ECO): Evaluate, process, and execute Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Change Notices (FCNs), and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) while communicating potential technical and commercial impacts directly to the client.

· As-Built & Commissioning: Review field redline drawings to maintain updated as-built documentation; support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), loop checks, and client handovers.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related field.

· Experience: 3–7 years of E&I engineering experience, including Chemical Dispense Systems (CDS) or plant facility system , commercial bidding support, site construction support, and direct client-facing responsibility.

· Technical Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI); familiarity with client RFI and ECN/ECO document control workflows.

· Codes & Standards: Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70/497, UL 508A, hazardous area classification, and intrinsically safe loop design.

· Soft Skills & Travel: Exceptional verbal and written client communication skills; ability to manage technical expectations professionally under pressure; willingness to travel for client kick-off meetings, design reviews, and site construction phases.
