Job Description

The Senior Electrical Field Technician candidate should have experience with the utility, industrial, or power generation industries with an ideal background as a facility or plant electrician that is able to read drawings, implement changes, and create field red-lines resulting from changes in field conditions. Supervision and guidance may be required to be provided to on-site electricians to implement work or modifications made by the engineering team. This position requires extensive travel or extended time at client sites.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have excellent communication, written and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices for electrical installations, wiring, terminations, field red-lines, etc.
  • Ability to read drawings and provide direction to craft labor.
  • Field experience with coal, hydro, simple cycle and combined cycle power plants

Knowledge of the following equipment:

  • Circuit breakers
  • Protection relays
  • Low and medium voltage power transformers
  • Switchgear and motor control centers
  • Motors
  • Potential and current transformers

Experience with the following test equipment is a plus:

  • Power quality / multimeter
  • Megger
  • Hi-Pot
  • Doble relay test set

The selected candidate is ideally located, in close proximity, or willing to relocate to the following locations:

Knoxville, TN; Chattanooga, TN; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA

Note: This position requires extended time and outage work at client sites and is largely an on-site position.
