Description:

The Electrical Designer at Hyper Solutions is responsible for developing detailed electrical designs and documentation for power distribution equipment and systems. This role supports the Engineering team by translating conceptual and engineered requirements into accurate schematics, layouts, wiring diagrams, and bills of material in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications.


Working closely with Electrical Engineers, Manufacturing, and Quality, the Electrical Designer plays a key role in ensuring design accuracy, manufacturability, and documentation integrity across the full product lifecycle.


Core Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and system drawings.
  • Develop and update bills of material (BOMs) and detailed design documentation.
  • Apply and ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE).
  • Collaborate with Electrical Engineers to resolve technical and design issues.
  • Support manufacturing through drawing revisions, change orders, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure accuracy, compliance, and manufacturability.
  • Maintain drawing standards, revision control, and documentation integrity.
  • Incorporate customer requirements and engineering changes into released designs.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes, documentation, and standards.
  • Assist with maintaining PLM/ERP data related to drawings and BOMs.
Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical design or drafting.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and power distribution equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience in power distribution or industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with UL compliance and manufacturing documentation.
  • Exposure to ERP or PLM systems.
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar product data management systems.
  • Exposure to SCADA, HMI, PLC, and I/O configuration in industrial or power distribution environments.
  • Experience working with low- and medium-voltage systems (up to 38kV).
  • Familiarity with advanced electrical design tools, automation, or scripting (e.g., Python to support design workflows and documentation efficiency).

Compensation

The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications and location. This hire will be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
