Are you passionate about nurturing young minds in a warm, engaging, and hands-on learning environment? Beth El Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Preschool Teacher in the Infant/Toddler Rooms to support our Lead Teacher in creating a joyful, safe, and developmentally rich experience for young children


Role Overview
As an Assistant Preschool Teacher, you will support classroom instruction, daily routines, and the social-emotional growth of young children in a collaborative, values-driven environment. This is a 9am - 6pm schedule. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
  •  Support daily care routines including feeding, napping, diapering/toileting, and hygiene.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
  • Observe and support children's developmental milestones.
  • Encourage positive behavior, independence, and self-confidence.
  • Communicate effectively with families and team members.

 Essential Physical Functions

These physical requirements are considered essential functions of the position.

  • Ability to lift, carry, and support up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, and sitting on the floor to engage with children at their level.
  • Active participation in indoor and outdoor classroom activities.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children.
  • Completion of Introductory Childcare Training (45 hours) or willingness to obtain.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Must meet all applicable state and local licensing requirements.

Skills and Attributes

  • Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate educational practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility, creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
  • Familiarity with Jewish culture and traditions is a plus.
