Job Description

RESPEC seeks an EIT (Engineer-in-Training) in Tampa, Sarasota, or Ft. Myers, Florida.

The EIT position is intended for a broad land development and public works professional, with experience across site civil design, permitting, and project delivery. This role involves all aspects of site and infrastructure design projects from inception through planning, design, and support of construction efforts for a wide variety of public- and private-sector clients all across the state of Florida.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in civil/site development, preferably in Florida
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
  • Florida PE license or ability to obtain within 2 years
  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or have the ability to obtain within a year of employment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficiency in editing Specifications
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple concurrent projects
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred:

  • Ability to train, mentor, and lead others
  • GIS experience and familiarity with permitting processes (e.g., ADEC, municipal codes)
  • Knowledge of sustainable site design and low-impact development practices
  • Experience with subdivision design, commercial site planning, and public infrastructure
