Job description

Attalon’s Murrieta site specializes in advanced optical manufacturing for critical aerospace and defense programs. Our team produces high-performance optical components and coatings that enable precision targeting and durability in the harshest environments.
About the Role

We are seeking an Optician 1- HSPP for 2nd Shift. These operators will play a key role in expanding capacity on both existing and new equipment, ensuring production goals are met with precision and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in optical fabrication or related manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and process documentation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with High-Speed Polishing Processes (HSPP)
  • Familiarity with precision optical components and coatings
  • Previous experience in a defense or aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain high-speed polishing equipment for optical components
  • Ensure compliance with production schedules and quality standards
  • Perform inspections and measurements to verify component accuracy

For California, the hourly pay range for this position is $16.07–$27.48.

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow site EHS procedures and Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by job responsibilities.

Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training and work instructions are provided, required PPE is available, and compliance is monitored.

Quality & Environmental Responsibilities

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
