Contract Details :

  • Job Title : Site EHS Engineer
  • Type of contract : Long-term At-will 
  • Expected Hiring Date : ASAP
  • Scope : Multi Site Support as needed (Time split between Duncan, SC and Greer, SC) 

Responsibilities :

  • Ensures the establishment, implementation, maintenance and effective operation of the Environmental IMS , ensures that the requirements of this system are communicated, followed, maintained
  • Helps to ensure EHS control plan is fully implemented (Training, Maintenance, sampling and monitoring...)
  • Develop, contribute to, communicate, and maintain documentation to support the energy management system and support the action plan defined by Energy Champion
  • Help identify unsafe conditions and environmental risks and recommend action plans for the site.
  • Analyses accidents, incidents and occupational illnesses to set action plans with management
  • Evaluates working conditions and site conformity to the legislation. Advises plant management in case of non-conformance in environmental, safety or working conditions. Proposes improvement of working conditions.
  • Supports that all required Corporate, Divisional and legal reporting are performed timely. Analyses the data and recommends actions. Support in Liaise with external bodies (insurance companies, local legal entities,...)
  • Acts as Internal Auditor for ISO 14001 program and follows up EHS action plans implementation. Supports energy management programs, and provides EHS inputs for the IMS system.
  • Contributes to safety audits and the Top safety observation program
  • Together with management and MRO buyer, supports sourcing and validation of appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Checks the conformity of each new facility, production means and of each chemical product used on site, and participates in the validation of plant lay out
  • Check if the site follows insurance requirements regarding fire prevention and protection and reports progress to local management
  • Support that EHS induction procedures are properly organized and supports all new employees training on EHS rules and standards (including temps)
  • Liaises with sub-contractors and maintenance team to establish the prevention scheme, follows up closely the works in progress
  • Keeps all necessary documentation up to date and inspection related emergencies equipment , eye wash stations and Chemical management
  • Analyses safety and environmental annual requirements and communicates to EHS Manager
  • Support in the coordination of  emergency preparedness activities and is part of the response and coordination efforts committee during these emergencies (Spills , and others )

 

Ideal Candidate Profile :

  • Engineering Degree or Equivalent Education
  • Minimum three years of experience ( in EHS, Industrial or Technical environment)
  • Good command of English, EHS local regulation, ISO 14001/45001, Environmental standards
  • Good communication skills and Pedagogical Skills
  • EHS Assessment monitoring experience preferred
  • Main Deliverables include - Risk assessment updates, number of Top safety observations, Legal requirements update, Machine conformity, Tf2, OPAD results, 14001 KPIs ( energy consumption and CO2 emissions)
