What is an EHS assistant?

EHS Assistants, or Environmental, Health, and Safety Assistants, support the implementation of workplace safety and environmental programs. They help ensure that organizations comply with regulations by conducting inspections, maintaining records, and assisting with training initiatives. EHS Assistants often coordinate safety meetings, report hazards, and aid in accident investigations. Their work is vital in promoting a safe and healthy environment for employees and protecting the organization from legal and environmental risks.

What are some common challenges EHS assistants face when supporting compliance initiatives in the workplace?

EHS Assistants often encounter challenges such as staying updated with frequently changing environmental and safety regulations and ensuring that all employees adhere to compliance protocols. They may also need to balance administrative tasks, like maintaining records and scheduling audits, with hands-on responsibilities such as conducting safety inspections or supporting training sessions.
