We are currently seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst. In this role you will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as an Analyst to provide VistA/Cerner expertise to interface efforts. As a Business Analyst you will researching commercial software product capabilities; identifying capability gaps in current systems; conducting business process reengineering; outlining the problem (i.e., capability gap) in terms of an initial business case; defining and documenting functional requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with system integrator and provide expertise to ensure the interface design and development meet VA requirements
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to design, develop, and test software applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs to support web and mobile applications.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure project timelines and milestones are met.
  • Monitor API performance and troubleshoot issues promptly
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience with VA VistA and/or DoD Health systems as well as Cerner/EHR deployment
  • 5 years of experience with Department of Veterans Affairs VistA integration development
  • Knowledge of API/EDI with data warehouses/cloud
  • Knowledge of software requirements and testing tools
  • Knowledge of statistical, business process modeling, and business reporting tools
  • Excellent understanding of modern software design and development methodologies (e.g., Agile, OO)
  • Strong understanding of objectoriented programming principles and design patterns.
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with SQL Server is a plus.
  • Security: Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust
