Qualifications/Requirements:
We are seeking an NH-04 lateral reassignment to serve as the Supervisory Chief Engineer for the Adaptive Weapons Division (AFLCMC/EBI) located at Eglin AFB, FL. Candidate's primary duties are to serve as the Division Chief Engineer, Eglin AFB, FL responsible for technical execution, strategic planning, and timelines of all division activities. The Adaptive Weapons Division is a highly specialized program division focused on accelerating the acquisition of high-priority, rapidly upgradeable, and highly flexible weapons systems. Our mission is to secure decisive victory in contested operational environments through speed, adaptability, and modular, open-architecture weapons platforms. Working directly alongside the Senior Materiel Leader, the Chief Engineer will serve as the primary technical authority for all engineering and technical execution across the division's portfolio.
The EBI CE will lead a dynamic team of engineers driving the development and rapid acquisition of the Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW), the Family of Affordable Mass Munitions (FAMM) portfolio of weapons and classified Special Weapon Programs. The CE also directs efforts in digital acquisition, sustainment, and risk management related to the EBI portfolio weapons and their supporting systems. The position also involves leading engineering teams and developing 'best engineering processes', tailored to the unique requirements of the Armament Directorate. This position requires extensive knowledge of systems engineering, software development, cybersecurity, DoDI 5000.02 and digital transformation processes to ensure ongoing and new development efforts align with Air Force objectives and the National Defense Strategy. The CE reports directly to the Adaptive Weapons Division Senior Materiel Leader and routinely collaborates with a multitude of stakeholders across DoW and industry.
The CE will provide technical leadership to a 200+ person (90+ technical person team) division team (Civ, Mil Ktrs) and serve as a first and second-level supervisor. The CE will serve as the technical advisor on EBI weapons issues and represent the organization at all levels of the division and directorate.

An engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program or in a closely related field is highly desired.
DAWIA Certification - Critical Acquisition Position, Level 2 Practitioner in Engineering and Technical Management.
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, equipment, and of system engineering and efforts required to achieve and preserve OSSE in systems or end-items.
Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, and operation of the DoD, AF, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence systems acquisition, development, and/or sustainment; and knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting cycles, financial systems, and restrictions on expenditures of funds.
Knowledge of and skill in evaluating state-of-the-art and advancements in theory, application, technology, and policy affecting systems being developed, and in planning, organizing, and directing the functions and staff in critical aspects of development production, and/or support of systems, subsystems, or equipment.
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Skills in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with a variety of individuals and organizations as well as communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors as well as analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
