  • Review daily sanitation reports and implement corrective actions as needed, while maintaining food safety and quality standards.

  • Assist with packaging eggs, monitor product dates, and ensure products are packaged correctly, while following established procedures and safety guidelines.

Cleaning Attendant

$18 - $20 per hour

The Sanitation Attendant I is an entry level position that works under direct supervision following prescribed procedures in the packing plant learning the fundamentals of processing plant sanitation. The Sanitation Attendant I may work with the processing team on packaging until the end of that shift, when they then begin cleaning and sanitation duties. The Sanitation Attendant I position is of high importance as they are learning to maintain the food safety and food quality of all eggs that we produce and sell.


JOB RESPONSIBILTIES

Strategic and tactical work for which this position is accountable:

It is the responsibility of the Sanitation Attendant l to become familiar with Kreher’s pre-established processing plant sanitation procedures and guidelines, and while working in a supervised manner:

  • Cleaning and sanitation of the egg grader, the packing room, and may include the cooler and the dry storage warehouse.
  • Sanitation of the egg washing area including conveyors, washers, blowers and egg inspection units, along with walls, floors and drains.
  • Sanitation of the egg grader including the egg baskets, brush area and covers/doors of the grader.
  • Sanitation of the packer area including rollers, egg holders, all conveyors, machine framework, floors and drains.
  • Review daily sanitation report to implement corrective action(s) during next sanitation time.
  • Meeting or exceeding standards in the tasks performed for the department without sacrificing quality or personal safety.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area to avoid accidents and encouraging the team to do the same.
  • Prior to beginning cleaning and sanitation; Sanitation Attendant I may work on packaging eggs to ensure that products are packaged in the correct carton/cases/carts.
  • Monitoring products for valid dates (sell by, use by, and packaging dates).
  • Complying with Kreher’s Policies and Work Rules, as well as federal and state laws.
  • Learning the proper operation of basic warehouse equipment and machinery.
  • Performs other job duties as required


 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years of work experience, in a food processing plant preferred.

  • Hours may be long and irregular


The physical work environment is a processing plant environment with frequent high noise level. However, the employee will often be exposed to:

  • Dust and dirt associated with agricultural farming
  • Excessive noise levels associated with a processing plant and machinery
