Responsibilities

The Merchandising Effectiveness Coach is responsible for leading and managing new hire Account Merchandisers during their training and onboarding period. The Merch Effectiveness Coach focuses on the staffing, onboarding, and performance evaluation to ensure new hires meet PepsiCo and PBNA standards and expectations within their location and/or area they support. Specifically, the Merch Effectiveness Coach will be the people leader of new-hire merchandisers during their onboarding and training period and responsible for their full onboarding experience, training, and certification. 


As the manager of new-hire Merchandisers, this role will have the responsibility to interview, hire, train, certify, and manage all aspects of the performance of the new-hire Merchandising team during their onboarding and training period. 


PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Lead new-hire merchandisers until certification and completion of their onboarding and training period 
  • Manage the full-cycle hiring process of new-hire merchandisers by understanding turnover, forecasted hiring needs, building a talent pipeline, and managing the ADP posting process 
  • Facilitate the interviewing and selection process of Account Merchandiser candidates 
  • Collaborate with HRBPs to introduce new employees to the broader team 
  • Own and implement all onboarding activities for new-hire merchandisers 
  • Coach, lead and develop merchandisers during their onboarding and training period to support the sales organization 
  • Own the new hire performance management process to ensure new merchandisers are meeting key performance targets and following company policies 
  • Train frontline Merchandisers to utilize Pepsi Beverages United States (PBUS) processes and tools 
  • Implement disciplinary actions as needed, following company policies and procedures 
  • Conduct ‘work-withs/route rides’ with new-hire merchandisers to develop their merchandising and customer service skills 
  • Report in a dotted line structure to the field sales capability team to partner on the capability agenda and accountable to meet sector capability objectives 
  • Partner across location leadership to ensure proper support and alignment with the training and capability of merchandisers 
  • Setup new-hire merchandiser’s onboarding and training schedules 
  • Collaborate with the LF SDL on the selection, development, and execution of the Peer Trainers who support and lead the training of new hire Merchandisers 
  • Coordinate with location peer trainers to track employee progress and provide in trade training and feedback 
  • Validate quality of peer trainers training during check-ins 
  • Apply knowledge of merchandising principles to drive productivity 
  • Lead the 30-day onboarding review for new-hire merchandisers, with the LF SDL attending 
  • Lead facilitation for all virtual and in person program training offerings 
  • Manage project plans, communication, and sustainability processes to support learning initiatives 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $60,600 - $94,450.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out quarterly.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 lbs. Periodically 
  • Minimum of 2 years in a merchandising, sales, or training role 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) 
  • Must have a valid driver's license 
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States 
  • Safe driving record strongly preferred

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience (preferred) 
  • Leadership experience (preferred) 
  • Sales team experience (Preferred) 
  • Consumer packaged goods in a direct store delivery environment: 1 year (preferred) 
  • Customer relationship management experience (preferred)
