Job description

Job Summary

This position is for a Nuclear Station Leader who oversees the Performance Improvement group to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operation at a Vistra nuclear facility. Responsibilities include Training, Emergency Planning, Corrective Actions, and Security programs, as well as leading the station’s Operations Performance Improvement (OPI) program. The position is located at one of Vistra’s four nuclear sites: Comanche Peak (GlenRose, TX); Beaver Valley (Shippingport, PA); Davis‑Besse (Oak Harbor, OH); and Perry (Perry, OH).

Key Accountabilities
  • Monitor and improve personnel and plant performance to ensure compliance with operating license provisions, NRC, and federal regulations.
  • Develop and assess leadership and personnel.
  • Oversee site, fleet, and emergency planning staff, maintaining the Emergency Preparedness Program.
  • Administer the Security Organization.
Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Minimum 10years of relevant nuclear experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, emphasis on issue identification and creative structuring.
  • Experience supporting initiatives for top decile performance relative to INPO/WANO metrics.
  • Strong quantitative and business acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant college degree programs or certifications.
