Water Resources and Stormwater Engineer

Opportunity

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer focused on stormwater planning and design, flood control, condition assessment of water assets, and water supply planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of water resources projects:
  • Planning, modeling, and design of stormwater improvements, including open channels, storm or combined sewer systems, and stormwater detention/retention facilities
  • Planning and design of green infrastructure and sustainable watershed measures, including structural BMPs
  • Planning and design of flood mitigation improvements, including dams, levees, reservoirs, and pump stations
  • Erosion and sediment control planning and design, including SWPPP development
  • Regulatory compliance and permitting for USACE, FEMA, and other environmental permit submittals
  • Provide business development leadership to identify and capture the above services
  • Build client relationships to drive business growth
  • Act as Project Manager for the services listed above
  • Interface with innovative stormwater, water quality, and planning partners to leverage new technologies
  • Provide technical mentorship and supervise earlier-career professionals
  • Support development of larger Planning business opportunities
Preferred Qualifications
  • 11+ years of water resources planning and design experience
  • Experience developing and executing water resource planning and design projects
  • Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA/XP-SWMM, InfoWorks, EFDC, CFD, ArcGIS, Cityworks, Lucity, or other Asset Management/CMMS systems
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and procedures
Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program or equivalent engineering experience.

Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

Must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records).

Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements.

Certifications

Work Environment and Schedule

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion and performance, with majority office‑based work and occasional site visits.
