Long Description:
Inova Children's is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to lead our Sickle Cell Disease and complex hematology programs. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nationally recognized children's health system and contribute to the continued expansion of comprehensive pediatric specialty care throughout Northern Virginia. This full-time position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.
The Inova Children's Sickle Cell Program is a National Association of Sickle Cell Centers site, providing multi-disciplinary care for children from birth through adulthood. The care team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, social work, psychology, and collaboration across pediatric specialties.
Your role includes:
  • Deliver coordinated, multispecialty care to patients with Sickle Cell Disease and other hematologic and oncology conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric hematology and oncology care.

  • Participate in the inpatient care team (Hematology Consult Service and Inpatient Attending)

  • Provide clinical teaching and in-service education to medical students, residents, and fellows.

  • Engage in pediatric hematology and oncology clinical research projects and studies, including translational efforts.

Our team includes 9 experienced Pediatric Hematology-Oncology physicians and 9 advanced practice providers who diagnose, manage, and treat all forms of childhood cancers, blood disorders, and bone marrow failure syndromes.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.

  • Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

  • Experience: successful completion of pediatric residency program and successful completion of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship.

  • Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start

  • Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor

  • Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
