Eee Parts Engineer Jobs in California (NOW HIRING)

Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. Electrical, Electronic & Electromechanical (EEE) Components/Parts, Materials & Process (PM&P) Engineer  to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Sr. Director, EHS, Mission Assurance & Quality, the Sr. EEE Components/PM&P Engineer will provide assurance to deliver affordable, high-performance satellite systems that provide product lifecycle reliability and safety and meet internal specifications and customer contract requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Partner with the Engineering EEE Parts Manager to guide design engineers on parts selection based on reliability, availability, and manufacturability.
• Review EEE and PM&P contract requirements and identify gaps or risks.
• Evaluate EEE parts for performance, reliability, safety, and value in product designs.
• Serve as the primary interface with customers for parts, materials, and process requirements.
• Support reliability risk mitigation by coordinating with supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Use reliability analyses, failure models, metrics, and tools (e.g., Sherlock) to assess PM&P risks and simulate PCBA stresses.
• Assess part reliability risks and provide actionable feedback.
• Analyze electrical, thermal, and mechanical characteristics of components, ICs, subcomponents, and PCBAs to determine root cause of failures.
• Lead, coordinate, and perform EEE/PM&P failure rootcause analyses; generate reports and propose corrective actions.
• Develop and track failurerelated metrics to address systemic issues.
• Participate in failure review boards and engineering reviews.
• Compile and deliver parts, materials, and process lists to meet contractual obligations.
• Provide input to program managers and proposal teams on EEE/PM&P requirements.
• Lead initiatives to improve PM&P processes and best practices.
• Ensure EEE/PM&P requirements are flowed down to suppliers and subcontractors.
• Manage the PM&P program, including oversight of subcontractor PM&P practices.
• Maintain the PM&P Control Plan and related procedures.
• Manage the Counterfeit Parts Prevention Program, including NSPAR/NSMAR approvals.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; Alternatively: a Bachelor's degree in another technical discipline with substantial handson experience working with EEE components for space hardware
• 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, ideally in aerospace.
• Experience in EEE parts engineering, including reliability, utilization, obsolescence, and parts libraries.
• Knowledge of applicable military and industry standards (MIL, NASA, ISO, ECSS, IPC).
• Ability to analyze designs, materials, processes, systems, and manufacturing for reliability.
• Experience performing part/material/process failure analyses and recommending corrective actions.
• Demonstrated experience leading crossfunctional failure and rootcause investigations (RCCA).
• Knowledge of counterfeit parts/materials management, inspection techniques, and test methods.
• Ability to review EEE/PM&P contract requirements and clearly communicate implementation approaches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and ambiguity.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Master's degree in engineering, physical sciences, or business administration.
• Familiarity with MS Office, JIRA, Manufacturo, Aegis, D365, and common PLM/MES tools.
• Experience with Ansys Sherlock for parts reliability analysis.
• Knowledge of passive/active components, connectors, metal finishes, tin whisker mitigation, leadfree solder control, and obsolescence management.
• Experience preparing/reviewing nonstandard part and material approval requests (NSPAR/NSMAR).
• Strong communication skills, including presenting to customers and senior leadership.
• Background with aerospace customers, mission assurance processes, satellites, space vehicles, and ground systems.
• Experience managing subcontractors.
